Do you sometimes wish you could reach out to someone for help or support with something, but don't know who to reach out to? Or, how to say it? Or, feel ashamed or embarrassed to ask?
Despite what American culture drills to us, we are not islands and are not meant to live in isolation and be self-sufficient at all times. There is a plethora of support available to us, and yet many of us stay in stuck places, isolated and frustrated, because we have not learned to see asking for support as a source of strength, rather than a weakness!
In this workshop we will look at the challenges and opportunities of using the support that is available within our communities. We will also explore how receiving help — and giving it — are an essential part of a holistic self-care strategy that can strengthen our sense of connection and belonging.
You will leave with a greater sense of connection to your community, and with specific ideas and tools for how to get your needs met with "a little help from your friends"!
Location: My home in Ballard
Date: June 27 · 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Duration: 2.5-3 hours
Cost: $75 (Venmo please: @ORNA-LOCKER)
Limited to 8 participants
